Our Vision
COMMUNITY CHURCH OF THE MONTEREY PENINSULA WHO WE ARE The Community Church of the Monterey Peninsula (CCMP) is an ecumenically oriented, yet independent congregation. Though not affiliated with any particular denomination, we seek collaboration with many different denominations and faith communities. As a community church, our services and facilities are available to individuals and non-profit groups from the community at large. Service to the members of our community and the world is an important element of both our history and present mission. WHAT WE BELIEVE We believe in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. We welcome everyone who is seeking spiritual nurture and enrichment. This congregation has built a warm and welcoming atmosphere which encourages participation. The founders and present members of this congregation share a common spiritual foundation in Jesus’ words: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” We agree to respect each person’s right of private judgment in matters of faith. MISSION STATEMENT Our Mission is to welcome independent-minded people of all ages, build a diverse Christian Community, and nurture one another to love God, neighbor and self.
