Petite Retreat for the Guest of Women Alive!
|
The lights were shining brightly on October 25th when Liz, Dolores, Kathy, Patricia, Karen,
Tami, Jackie, Carolyn and Elizabeth went to Dorothy’s and had a “Petite Retreat” for the
Women Guest.
It started with a heartwarming blessing from Maria and a tear-producing gospel song
from another one of the Women. A healthy spa meal with pretty napkins and plates and
of course herbal tea in china cups was served.
After dinner we gave manicures, chair massages, facials, and haircuts. Each guest received
a gift bag filled with toiletries and personal gifts collected from various organizations
and of course all of you from church who support this missionary work. The women
were so grateful and appreciative of our time spent with them. The personal touch each
received was such a blessed event that many of us will keep it deep in our hearts for a long
time. Love abounded that night. To God Be the Glory.
We’re planning another event for December and will keep you updated on this as the plan
becomes finalized.
Dorothy’s Place is inviting anyone who would like to join them on Christmas eve (24th) to
celebrate the love, life and teaching of Jesus through ‘Prayers from the Shelter’ (done by
the guests) and a ceremony called “the breaking of the bread”. The Women Alive will do
this celebration in combination with Day Room and House of Peace.
This month's Needs List:
Ladies underpants (clean, new is not important), toiletries (travel size is great), small
dish towels, hand towels (used is perfect), and laundry soap (any kind.
